Dick Stevens has been in the book business for 50+ years and has been specializing in Christian, religion, Baptist and theological titles for all of that time. The books shop started its operations in 1954 at Wake Forest, North Carolina to fill the needs of students and clergy for used and out-of-print religion books.

Starting with a few books on a card table while in the seminary, it became one of the largest suppliers of theology books in the world.

Stevens Bookshop has a wide range of other titles and subjects as well since it has over a half million books in categories ranging from children's, classics, philosophy, history (including Southern history), biography, psychology, fiction, cooking, gardening, decorative and a wide selection of materials for the home schooled.
